Log Cabin Wedding – Leigha & Kile

My sister asked me to design the stationery for her log cabin wedding weekend, one of my earliest wedding projects. We took over Bear Creek Log Cabins in Northern Alabama, with 35 of the bride and groom’s closest family and friends.
A lot of love, sweat, and tears went into every detail. I also wore the wedding planner and maid of honor hats.
Bear Creek has seven cabins on the property. We had a bag of coffee and biscotti to welcome everyone. I also designed a helpful visitors guide with things to do in the area.
The log cabin wedding weekend started with an invitation to join the couple around the campfire to roast marshmallows for s’mores and drinking hot chocolate.
Later all the ladies joined my sister and me for a mad-hatter-style bridal tea.
A chef friend of the bride & groom catered breakfast and dinner all weekend, served family-style in the Lodge.
On Saturday, a brisk fall afternoon we all gathered under a cluster of trees, marked by a handmade fabric banner and stringed instruments, for the ceremony. While the bride and groom were busy with photos…
We enjoyed bottles of the couple’s home-brewed IPA, listened to records, and played Bocchi ball. Then the newlyweds invited everyone in for dinner and wine curated by the bride. Danced while the groom played the cello, and lastly, we all enjoyed homemade pies (by the groom).
